Spent his high school years in Meadville living with an aunt.

From the Meadville, PA newspaper, the "Meadville Evening Republican", Nov. 9, 1876:
" Dr. Goodfellow is a young physician who has read medicine with Dr. Lashells, of this city, and won first honors at the Cleveland Medical College at graduation, and a bright future seems in store for him. The Doctor and his fair bride started Saturday night for the "golden shores of California," where Mr. Goodfellow's friends reside, and where he expects to locate permanently."

George and Kate Goodfellow probably spent the summer of 1879 in Oakland with George's mother. His father was in northern Arizona. IN the summer of 1879 George published his first professional article (in the Medical Record ) and he was listed as "from Oakland, Cal." In the late autumn, George was listed as a stage passenger to Los Angeles and then on to Arizona. On Nov 8, 1879, he was injured in a stage accident between Phoenix and Tuscon. (This was probably just after the birth of Edith).
Unable to find in the 1880 census, but he was in either Prescott, AR or at Fort Bowie, AR in the spring of 1880. He moved to Tombstone, Conchise, AR in late 1880.

1891, George moved to Tuscon after the death of his wife in Oakland.

By May 1896 he was living in Los Angeles and is listed in the Los Angeles City Directory for 1897 as a physician and surgeon at 621 South Main, residence in the same building. He is back in Tuscon in 1898 at 105 W. Alameda St, Tuscon. In 1898-1899 he served as a member of General Shafter's staff in the War with Spain in Cuba. In late 1899 he moved to San Francisco. His office was at 771 Sutter St.. He was also a member of the Bohemian Club. In April 1906, he and his new wife were living at the St. Francis Hotel. Both the hotel and his office on Sutter were burned. His life and finances were ruined and in 1907 he became Chief Surgeon for the Southern Pacific Railroad in Mexico. In contracted some sort of neuritis in March of 1910 while in Sonora, Mexico and went to Los Angeles to be treated by his brother-in-law, Dr. Charles Fish. He died in Angelus Hospital at seven AM on 7 Dec, 1910.
