  • Given Name: Ellinda
  • Surname: Bradley
  • Sex: F
  • Birth: 7 JUL 1816 in ,South Carolina,USA
  • Death: 28 FEB 1864 in Humansville,Polk,Missouri,USA
  • Burial: ,Polk,Missouri,USA
  • Note:
NOTES: Ellinda was born in SC. (31 in 1850; 44 in 1860. She was married to
Daniel Molder when she was abt 38 years old. She died when she was about 41-45
years old. They apparently had no children of their own. Her name is spelled,
"Ellinda" in the 1850 Census and in a record of their marriage. It is
incorrectly spelled, "Malinda" in the 1860 Census.

Elinda married (1) in Cole Co, MO; 14 Nov 1839, James Howard. A record
of their marriage is given on page 112 in a book entitled "Missouri Marriages
Before 1840", by Susan Ormesher, published by the Genealogical Publishing Co,
Inc; Baltimore, MD; 1982. This record, in which her 1st name is spelled,
    "Elinda", is as follows:

"Howard, James to Elinda Bradley 14 Nov 1839 Cole"

The residence of James Howard and Ellinda in 1840 is unknown. He is not listed
as the head of a family in Cole or Polk County, MO in the 1840 Census and is
apparently not listed elsewhere in an index to the 1840 Census of MO. Ellinda
is listed with 1 daughter (Elizabeth B. Howard, age 10, born in 1839-40 in MO)
in the 1850 Census of Polk Co, MO; p R65; Family 849; on Oct 23, 1850, as
Ellinda Howard, age 31, born in SC. She was then residing with her parents and
    was then evidently a widow.

Daniel and Ellinda were apparently both of Polk Co, MO at the time of
their marriage which is recorded in Book A; page 382; Bolivar courthouse. This
    record is as follows:

"Polk County, MO. Oct the 21st 1854
This is to certify that the undersigned did Solemnize the rights of matrimony
betwen [between] Mr. Daniel Molder and Mrs. Ellinda Howard the 29th of August
    1854. Ja. [James] T. Wheeler, M.G.
Recorded this 31st October AD 1854. I.W. Davis, Recorder"

Daniel is listed with his 2nd wife, Ellinda, and 1 dau by his 1st wife (Rachel
Hopper) in the 1860 Census of Polk Co, MO. The 1860 Census gives his
occupation as farmer and indicates that he then had real estate valued at
$2000 and personal estate valued at $4000. The 1860 Census also indicates
that Daniel and his wife could not read or write. This census record,
    in which her name in incorrectly spelled, "Malinda": 1860 Federal Census;
Polk Co, MO; Humansville; Role 641; Vol 19; Page 101; Family 700.

The ages for Ellinda as given in the 1850 Census and in the 1860 Census do not
agree and indicate that she was born in 1818-19 [31 in 1850] or in 1815-16 [44
in 1860]. She should have been listed as 41 in 1860 instead of 44.

NOTE: Her last name was "Howard" when she married D. Moulder.
Ellinda and Daniel Moulder had no children.
