I was working on a friends lineage chart today and found a lot on the Huntingdon co Curfmans. Have you looked in the FTM on line internet search?? If so go there and type in Korffmann. Takes you back to the 1600's. Her line is Caleb Greenland and Christina Curffman.Do you know anything about Samuel Hart. I have a hand copy of an old Hart bible of Huntingdon Co. Good luck in your search.

The only information that I have is my Francis Alvin Decker married a Elizabeth Jane Curfman 07 Oct 1897. She was born 1848 place unknown, died 1926, Mapleton, Huntingdon Co., PA. Her parents were Joseph Curfman and Margaret Cotsley. Do not know if this helps. J. Alexander

Hi, I'm sorry that it has taken so long to answer you. We have been in Germany-in fact met with the Korffmann family in Germany, descendents of a brother that did not come to America (We are related from about 9 generations ago and found each other through the internet.) I know that your Curfman's must tie in with the family some way, but I cannot find the link. I looked at all the other surnames on your list and there are some on our tree that also married Carman and Pierce, but at different times. Also your family settled in many of the same places. I think we should keep in touch as we believe all the Curfman, Corfmans etc are related and come from the Korffmanns in Germany. I would be happy to give you any information that I can and if you can find a link, I would really be happy. We have an old book, printed in 1971 and written by a Joseph Curfman, but I cannot find a connection there either, but then the auther did not contact everybody. I am keeping your information on file. My e-mail address is permanent one so will be around as long as I am, but my home address is also listed below. Don & Alice Corfman

I'm not sure if we connect or not yet but I will keep your information
and I will let you know as soon as I can. I'm working on it every chance
I get, so I will let you know one way or the other. I would send you
some information right now but I'm getting ready to fix supper, so I'll
get back to you. Thank you so much for replying to my post. Have a great
evening and you'll hear from me soon. Sam Thurber

    Hi, Helen...
It's been a long time since we've e-mailed...you were the first person I
ever e-mailed when I started this genealogy fun in July. We were saying that
we both had Iowa relatives, mine in Guthrie County and yours in Perry County
which is right next door. It's taken me a very long time to get to this
place, but I'm finally going back through all my old stuff and found your
e-mail with the Henry Curfman descendants on it...Henry is the line your
brother-in-law Larry Peachey came from. I'd like to find out if Larry's
information came from family records because there are discepancies from what
is out there on the Latter Day Saints website and on the internet amongst
    other Curfman searchers.
    Here's what is out there:
Johann Philipp Korffmann b1653, died April 20, 1726 both in
Stein-Bockenheim, Rheinhessen, Germany; married Anna Ottilia Lufft, b Nov
1653 possibly in Switzerland , if not in Stein-Bockenheim; buried Feb 5, 1710
    or 1711; parents of:

Johann Daniel Korffmann, born March 25, 1681, died January 9, 1731-
1732, both in Stein-Bockenheim, Rheinhessen, Germany; married Susanna
Reiss, b ~1683 and died January 16, 1742-1743, both in Stein-
    Bockenheim, Rheinhessen, Germany; parents of:

Johann Daniel Korffmann b~April 1718, died 1783, both in Stein-
Bockenheim, Rheinheseen, Germany; married Anna Catherine
    Dietrich; parents of:

Daniel Curfman III or JR. born 1743 Stein-Bockenheim,
    Rheinhessen, Germany, died 1805 Frederick County, Maryland;
married Barbara; parents of many children, one of which was:

    Henry Curfman b? d? married Catherina Tipple (b 1781)
December 20, 1801 Frederick County, MD; parents of many
    children including:

Heinrich (Henry) b January 16, 1810 Frederick County,
MD, died Dec 28, 1895 probably Jefferson County,
Ohio; married Anna Barton July 19, 1827 Salem
Township, Jefferson County, OH; Anna b~1806 PA,
d March 22, 1881 probably Jefferson County, OH

So, could you ask Larry about this and get back to me about it? Some of
Larry's info doesn't make sense.. for instance, he has Henry and Catherine
marrying when they were 70+ years old, but having their son Henry when they
were 20+ years old. There are other dates and places that aren't the same.
Does Larry know how it was that Nancy Ann moved to Perry, Dallas County,
IA? My relatives were in that area too so I'm thinking they must have known
    each other somehow.
Does Larry know anything about an Adam Curfman, born ~1802 Frederick
County, Maryland? He's my ancestor but I can't find out who his parents were
to save my soul. I know he married Elizabeth L., b ~1803 PA and they lived in
Steubenville, Jefferson County, OH and had at least 10 children, some of
which moved to Guthrie County, Iowa and to Davenport, Iowa. That's my most
burning question...can you help with that, Helen?
Hope all is well. Thank you. Talk to you soon. Let me know if you have
questions that I could help with, OK? Marsha Curfman Taylor
