The B.C. Mills House is turning 100, and it's looking great.
This lovely old-timer, located in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park, gives a fascinating glimpse into the history of the Lower Mainland's industry and architecture.
A press release from B.C. Mills house volunteers noted that during the early 1900s, the B.C. Mills Timber and Trading Company operated mills in Vancouver and New Westminster for lumber exports.
In 1904, plant manager Edwin C. Mahoney found a clever use for discarded board ends. He patented the use of interlocking sandwiched panels to construct prefabricated buildings.
