(1) 1812, 4 May: (1,2) In the War of 1812 he was ensign in Capt. Joseph LOCKHART's Company. (1) Josiah LOCKHART's Company of Col. James TRIMBLE's Regiment under Gen. Duncan McARTHUR was mustered in and sent to Detroit.
(1) 1812, 16 Aug: His company was surrendered to the British by Gen. HULL.
(1,2) [ca. 1813]: After his marriage he settled in the vicinity of Winchester, Adams Co., OH.
(1,2) 1826-1827: Served in the Ohio House of Representatives.
(1,2) 1831-1836: Served in the Ohio House of Representatives.
(1,2) 1832: William ROBBINS and his brother-in-law, William S. SMITH, opened a general store in Winchester, and continued in business until SMITH's death in 1837.
(1,2) : ROBBINS sold the business.
(1,2) 1839: He purchased the farm west of town formerly owned by Solomon SPARKS. He lived here until 1850. He provided a home for his wife's sister, Mrs. Jane SMITH, and her daughter Caroline, after the death of William S. SMITH in 1837.
(1,2) 1841: Elected to the Ohio Senate. Served to 1843.
(1,2) 1850: He sold his farm to Dr. John GROSSMAN.
(1,2) Bought property at the southern end of Main Street, Winchester. Here he lived until the late 1860's.
(1,2) Colonel in the Ohio Milita.
(1,2) He and his wife went to live with Mrs. Jane SMITH's son-in-law, Dr. S.P. EVANS, in Jackson Twp.
(1,2) Had no children.
