  • ID: I20565
  • Name: Anne Ashby
  • Sex: F
  • Birth: 1465 in Zuenby, Leicester
  • Death: 24 SEP 1514
  • Note: 1 2

Zuenby must be Quenby, Leics, where there were Ashbys.
If her father was the lord of Quenby, then he surely must be the one shown, as this would mean she died the same year as her brother.
When Wyrley, the Staffordshire antiquary, was here in 1596, he noted in the windows the effigies and arms of Thomas Curzon and Margaret Harrington... their son John Curzon, who died 1500, and his wife Anne, daughter of William Ashby, 1514; and Thomas, the son of John ...
Glover?s Curzon pedigree says that she was the ?Anne, daughter of William Ashby of ___, Leicester, esq, died 1514?
I t seems however that Anne died in 1514, so it would be unusual that she died in the same year as her father, and that her father died 4 years after her husband. I have therefore made her the brother of William Ashby.
