Name: John Mallory
Death: ABT 1429
Residence: Welton, Northants
LVG: ? 1429
Change Date: 23 SEP 2009
This seems to say he was alive in April 1429:
Indenture being a feoffment by John Stele and John Falclyf, clerks, to John Malory of Welton, esquire, and Elizabeth his wife, for the term of their lives in survivorship of the manor of Welton, which they lately had by his gift and feoffment; with remainder to Ellen his daughter for life, with remainder to John Swynerton, esquire, in tail, with remainder in default to John Bernard and Ellen his wife, daughter of the said John Malory, in tail, with remainder in default to the said John Malory and his heirs. 1 April, 7 Henry VI.
BUT this seems to say he was dead in March 1429:
Letter of attorney by Elizabeth late the wife of John Malory of Welton, esquire, widow, to John Stevenes, clerk, to deliver seisin to John Bernard, knight, and Ellen his wife, her daughter, of her life estate in the manor of Welton. 6 March, 8 Henry VI.
I had him born of Abington, Northamptonshire, but that was where his son in law?s family was from, so perhaps there is confusion.
See p186 of The Life and Times of Sir Thomas Malory.
