    In 1542, on Thomas Culpepper's attainder, his estates at Fordham were given to Sir Anthony Wingfield, who the same year sold them, divided into two portions: John Lucas acquired Fordham Hall and Archentines; the other part, Great Fordham manor with the Frith estate, was assigned to John Abell [Presumably Mary?s brother].
