Henry Retford, Knight was Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1456.
And a Sir Henry Redford was Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1406. (Not the same man as Elizabeth?s father.)
A Sir Henry Retford was sheriff of Lincs in 1389, 1392- 93, 1397-98 and 1406-07
    (Early Yorkshire Charters page 269)
A Sir Henry Retford was killed in the battle of Wakefield, December 30, 1460.
That man could not be the same Sir Henry Retford whose widow Mary married William Clinton, as she died 2 Feb 1458/9.

When Henry de Retford was born is not known for certain, but it is probable that it was in or about 1354. For in 1386, when he made a deposition in the famous Scrope v. Grosvenor heraldic case, he stated that he was 32 years of age.

The arch on the north of the chancel covers a tomb on which rest the figures of Sir Henry Retford, knight, and his wife, about 1385.
