(Referred to in Marriage Settlement of Samuel Rolleston of Southampton, esq., and Elizabeth Carr of Newcastle upon Tyne, in 1773.) --- A Lease of 4 Dec 1574, of land in the manor of Whatchingwell, Shalfleet, IoW, refers to: (1) John Cheeke of Boscombe, Wilts., gent. (2) John Harvie of Alvington, p. Caresbrooke, I.W., gent. Edward Harvie, the second son of the said John Harvie John Harvie, the son and heir apparent of the said John Harvie the elder. --- Is this him? In the centre of the nave of Salisbury Cathedral are the following inscriptions with no dates: On a black marble : Catherine Harvey, Widow of John Harvey, Esq. of Alvington, in the Isle of Whight. On a white marble : Edward, Son of John Harvey, aforesaid.
