    1257 Henry de Seize Vaux, Bailif York & Mayor probably son of Henry 1225.
    His daughter & heiress married Thomas Fairfax of York who was dead 1261 by whom she had a son John Fairfax who was living at Walton 1302.
    John de Sezevaux, one of the Representatives for the city of York, 28th of Edward I. [1300] was of Thixendale (in the parish of Wharram Percy, and wapentake of Buckrose; 9 miles N. of Pocklington), and to whose name Drake, p. 35b, annexes the following note: De Sezevaux, or de sexdecem vallibus, is the town on the Wolds, now called Thixendale; corruptedly no doubt from sixteen dales, which the place is remarkable for."
