    John, who in 1340 (fn. 14) commanded the militia in Kingston and Shorwell, settled Kingston on his wife Maud in 1341. (fn. 15) He himself was still living in 1356, (fn. 16) but on his death, at an uncertain date, left two sons James and Jordan, who both died childless, and a daughter Eleanor, wife of William Drew, (fn. 17) who finally inherited his property at Kingston.
    1333 On January 30th at York, and on June 6th at Tweedmouth, Robert Urry, Theobold RUSSEL, KNIGHT, John de KINGSTON, and John de GLAMORGAN were accused by John de LANGFORD, Constable of Carisbrooke Castle, of breaking doors and windows of his Manor at Chale, carrying away his goods, and assaulting his servants.
