Note: The manor of Up Marden, Sussex, was probably held about the end of the 12th century by Eustace de Valle Pironis, as his daughter Mary in 1227 gave it to her son Reynold Aguillon, excepting certain lands which she gave to John Aguillon, probably a younger son, to hold of him. By 1240 Reynold's estates had passed to his four daughters ? Mary wife of William Covert, Cecily wife of Peter de Gatesden, Godehuda wife of Ralph St. Owen, and Alice then wife of William Russel. --- ?He was the son of Mary, dau of Eustace de Valle Pironis, who in 1227, when she was ill, and probably on her death-bed bestowed on him the manor of Up Marden, with the exception of certain specified lands which she had given to John Aguillon (probably her younger son) to hold of Reynold and his heirs.?
