Ordained Tullylish & Donaclony 23 March 1703; died 8 July 1745; Moderator of Synod of Ulster 1720. Son of Rev. Gilbert Kennedy. Married to daughter of Rev. George Long (Newry). Nine children born to this marriage.
KENNEDY, GILBERT 1678-1745. Gilbert Kennedy was born in Dundonald, County Down, and was educated in Glasgow. He was ordained Presbyterian minister of Tullylish, County Down in 1704, and during the next forty years, published many pamphlets.

Rev. Gilbert and Elizabeth Laing (as her name was spelled in the old records) KENNEDY also had a daughter Frances KENNEDY who married the Presbyterian minister Rev. James MOODY of Newry, Co. Down, Ireland. They had at least 2 sons, one Rev. John Moody (also Presbyterian who removed to Dublin) and one Rev. Boyle Moody (Presbyt.) who was captured and murdered by a mob during some of the religious uprisings in Nor. Ireland of his time (around c1790).
