The published 1623 Visitation of Somerset seems to displace the early Roynons by a generation and gives their origin as Chilchester, Hampshire. I have seen another copy of the Visitation made at the College of Arms in 1824 which has Chilchester in Northamptonshire. But where is either? Silchester?
Chichester? As John Roynon was MP for Somerset in 1372, following in his father- in- law's footsteps, Ilchester seems more likely.
