He was a younger brother of the house of Fouleshurst of Edlaston, Derbyshire. He was among the four esquires among whom lord Audley divided the present of 500 marks which he received from the Black Prince, Edward, at the battle of Poitiers. He was a knight in 1369. His armed figure is on an ornamented altar tomb at Barthomley, Cheshire.
