His 1st wife, Katherine Griffin, was the daughter of Nicholas Griffin, Esq., of Braybrook, Northamptonshire, de jure Lord Latimer, by his wife, Katherine Curzon.
Sir John Digby and Katherine Griffin are the parents of Anne Digby, wife of Sir William Skeffington.
The epitaph of Sir John Digby who died in 1553, and of his two wives, was a few years ago in existence st Melton.

Knighted by Henry VII for his services at Bosworth and in 1513 he attended King Henry VIII to Calais. He served as Sheriff of Rutland, Warwick and Leicester. Sir John died in May 1533 at Eye Kettleby, Sanchia having died earlier in the same month.
