    He was nephew of Richard Wrotham or Forester, who was nephew of William Wrotham, Archdeacon of Taunton:
    William Wrotham received a grant of Newton [Petherton, Somerset] in 1198. ( Footnote 87 ) Wrotham was forester from 1199 and from 1204 acquired land there called Deneysedon formerly of William Dacus. ( Footnote 88 )
    William Wrotham, who combined the forestership, the Stable and Odburville holdings, and the lands of William Dacus in an estate known as Newton or Newton Forester, was appointed archdeacon of Taunton c. 1204. He was still alive in 1212, but by 1216 he had been succeeded by his nephew Richard, a minor. Richard (d.s.p.1250), known as Richard Forester, was succeeded by his nephew William de Plessis.
