Of Hawridge & Marshall, Buckinghamshire.
The manor of Hawridge, near Chesham, Bucks, was anciently in the Mauduits and Beauchamps, who successively enjoyed the title of Earl of Warwick. Sir Thomas Peniston was lord of this manor in the reign of Henry VIII. It was soon afterwards in the family of Tasburgh, who sold it to the Seares in 1630.
One World Connect database gives him as son of George or Gregory Peniston of Courtesellas (qv), but since Gregory?s dau Catherine died abt 1509, this is unlikely if her supposed brother, this Richard, was born in 1424?
Born 1424 - but his mother was remarried to her 2nd husabnd in 1416?
