A manor in Ravensden, Bedfordshire, known as RAVENSDEN or TRAILLY'S MANOR, was held during the 13th and early 14th centuries of the Gascelins, but by 1401 the overlordship had passed to the Mowbrays, Dukes of Norfolk, as part of their barony of Bedford, the overlordship being last mentioned in 1525.
The Gascelins subinfeudated the Traillys, of whom the first to hold this manor was John Trailly, who died seised of it in 1272. (fn. 37) The pedigree of the Trailly family has been worked out under Yelden, their chief seat (q.v.), with which their Ravensden manor was held until c. 1401. In 1276 Walter de Trailly claimed to hold view of frankpledge and have assize of bread and ale in Ravensden.
