  • ID: I50035
  • Name: Adalaiz de Roquefeuil
  • Sex: F
  • Note:

Possibly in 1140, but there is disagreement about the date, Alice of Roquefeuil married Bertrand of Anduze ? seigneur of Anduze and Meyrueis, and co-seigneur of Alès. (Bertrand was described in the chronicles as a wise and trustworthy knight; his name appeared as witness or guarantor in many of the most important legal proceedings of the great men of Languedoc in his day. Late in life he took monk?s vows.) Alice having no brothers, a condition of the marriage was that one of the children of the union should bear the name Roquefeuil. Bertrand and Alice?s first son, Bernard, continued the name Anduze, but their second son was called Raymond of Roquefeuil, not Raymond of Anduze.
    ---
