Alan was followed at Routh by his son William (fl. c. 1230), (fn. 83) but later in the mid 13th century the Scruteville holding in Routh, of 4 carucates and 1 bovate, passed to John de Ros, husband of Sir William de Scruteville's daughter Emma.
William de Scrutevill II seems to have had issue, by Cecily his wife, two daughters, who married Peter, son of William de Ruda, and Henry de Hoton.
From one of these coheirs John de Ros, afterwards described as of Ringborough, held circa 1260 in Waghen 2 bov., Routh 4 car. and I bov., Carton 48 bov., of which the abbot of Thornton had 6 bov. (by the gift of Hanelac de Bydon ?), in Ringborough 32 bov. of the fee of Scrutevill (Stotevill).
