BATT: Bosworth 1485, for Henry VI
Change Date: 29 JUL 2012
Probably illegitimate son of Owen Tudor.
Knighted on 7 Aug 1485 by his nephew Henry Tudor (Henry VII) at Milford Haven, having travelled to France with Henry.
Fought at Bosworth 22 Aug 1485.
In 1529 Henry Owen sold Cowdray over his father's head to William FitzWilliam for £2,000, though his father was allowed to stay there until his death in 1535.
By Anne Bohun he had:
(a) Sir Henry Owen, he married Dorothy West, the daughter of Thomas West, Lord de la Warr, and had issue by her.
(b) Jasper Owen
(c) Roger Owen
(d) Anne Owen, she married a man surnamed Hopton, and had issue by him.
I believe he had three sons, Henry, Knt., Jasper, and Roger, and one daughter, Anne (wife of Arthur Hopton, Esq.) by his 1st wife, Mary Bohun. It likewise appears that he had two sons, Henry (or Harry) and John, Esq., and one daughter, Elizabeth (wife of Thomas Burgh, Knt.) by his 3rd wife, Anne Devereux. I'm not aware that he had any children by his second wife, Anne Blount.
