    This must be this man?s son, unless he had a 2nd wife very much younger than himself:
    John Harvey of Alvington married Grace (bapt Shalfleet 1636), dau of Barnabas Leigh of North Court (b c1572, d by 1591) and his 1st wife Elizabeth Bamfield (dau of Hugh Bamfield of Somerset). Her sister Catherine married Richard Swayne of Tarrant Gunvill.

    On the death of Ralph Harvey in 1559 the manor of Alvington passed to his son John, who was succeeded by a son and grandson of the same name. The latter sold the manor in 1640 to Barnabas Leigh.
