Lucy, heiress of Steple, Barton, Rousban [surely typo for Rousham?], Dornford, Oxon, married Sir Richard Arches of Eythorpe, Cranwell and Little Kimble, Bucks. She was the daughter of Agnes Shareshull, sister of William de Shareshull.
Ref: Cokayne, Vol. IV, p. 377; Magna Charta, p. 1832.
Clues: Richard Adderbury acquired a life interest in the manor of Kidlington on the death of Elizabeth de la Vache in 1414. After 1546 that manor was said to have ?descended like Steeple Barton? (which this Lucy was said to be heiress of). (VCH)
In 1415 Sir Richard Adderbury (d 1416) began to sell up his entire inheritance, disposing of some estates to his nephew, Sir Richard Arches.
