(H.O.C. III pp.767-8) says (re Mordaunt) that Robert Mordaunt married Elizabeth, daughter of Robert Holdenby of Holdenby, Northamptonshire.

Robert Holdenby, of Holdenby married Katherine, sister of Thomas Boynton who died 1523.
John, from whom the manor passed to his second son John. He was succeeded by his son William, whose son William died seised of a sixth of a knight's fee in Wold held of the Earl of Oxford in July 1498. His son and heir John was then about 10 years old. He died without surviving male issue, and on the death of his wife Joyce in 1511 the manor passed to Elizabeth Giles, the sister of William Holdenby.
