CREST:..A raven's head erased Sable (black), charged on the neck with three goutes d'or, one and two, in the beak an annulet of the last.

At some point in the fifteenth century the manor of Shipley came into the possession of the Gascoigne family, and through them, passed eventually to the Rawson family of Bradford who held it until 1745, when the widow of the last Rawson lord of the manor, Judith Rawson, married the Rev. Cyril Jackson of Stamford in Lincolnshire.
