    Cave J. Couts made a flying trip to Los Angeles yesterday, to see his mother, who is lying in a very critical condition. Mr. Couts is still suffering from the effects of a fall from his wagon on the Banner grade last week, his team having run away and thrown him on his head.

    FUNERAL OF MRS. COUTS.
    Impressive Services Over the Remains of a Pioneer.

    The funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Ysidora B. de Couts took place yesterday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church, and were attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends. Rev. Father A. D. Ubach, who had known the deceased intimately, officiated, and a solemn requiem mass was celebrated which continued for an hour and a half. Floral tributes of great beauty were numerous, and included a wreath and cross from the San Diego pioneers.

    The line of carriages leaving the church for the Catholic cemetery was unusually long. The remains of the deceased were deposited in a vault beside those of Don Juan Bandini. The pallbearers were J. A. Altamirano, J. E. O'Brien, H. E. O'Brien, E. Parker, O. A. Trippet, Andrew Cassidy and Charles Forbes.

    Many of the relatives and friends of the family who came from the north to attend the funeral will return home today. Of the relatives, those from outside the city included J. B. Winston, Mr. and Mrs. Winston, Mrs. Y. C. Gray of Los Angeles, Mrs. Parker Dear of Escondido, Robert L. Couts of Guajome, Mrs. A. B. de Baker and Miss Scott of Los Angeles, John F. Couts and wife of Guajome, Cave J. Couts of Altura, J. B. Bandini of Santa Monica.

    SAN DIEGO BREVITIES
    The funeral of Mrs. Ysidora B. de Couts was held at 9 o'clock his morning at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Father Ubach officiating. The funeral was attended by the leading people of this city, the interment being at the Catholic Cemetery beside the body of the husband of Mrs. Couts.
