    Her sister was Ann Bennett and her maiden name was Simmonds alias Haddaway per Barbara Miller. Deposition in 1845 Chancery Record B167-744 per Barbara Miller between John Haddaway and Mary Apsley against George Apsley, Mary Simmond's sister Ann Bennet, wife of Roland Bennet had died leaving children some of whom were minors and since she and her sister had jointly owned the land, it was decided that the 118 acres would be sold and the property evenly divided between the Bennet and Apsley children. Only George Dulaney Apsley and Sarah Martha Apsley were listed.

    John Haddaway and Sarah Apsley showeth that a certain Mary Apsley and Ann Bennett of Kent purchased from and conveyed to them a tract of land called Stradford?s Manor containing 118 acres that the said Mary Apsley afterwards departed this life, leaving the said Sarah Apsley ase the complainants and a certain George Dulaney Apsley her children and heirs at law to whom her undividied moiety of the said land descended and who were seized thereof and that the said George Dulaney Apsley has since sold and conveyed his interest in the said land to the John Haddaway who is seized thereof. That after the death of the said Mary Apsley, the said Anne Bennett departed this life intestate, leaving a husband Rowland Bennett who is since deceased, and the following children and heirs at law, to wit: William Bennett, Mary who hath since interemarrid with a certain William Knotts and John Bennett, Robert Bennett, George Bennett, Samuel Bennett and Mary Elizabeth Bennett, to her undivided motiety of the land descended, that the said William Bennett and Mary Ann Bennett have conveyed their undivided interest to the said John Haddaway. The orator and oratrix cannot divide the land equally or sell it due to minority of Robert Bennett, George Bennett, Samuel Bennett and Mary Elizabeth Bennett who are under the age of 21 years, although it would be in their interest to sell and divide the proceeds.
