Found in "THE HISTORY OF BLAIR COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA" 1824 Mary Ann Forge Cemetery, Antes, Twp., Blair Co., Pa. There is a head stone for Old Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins. No first names or dates and says that believed to be the parents of James, Sr.

From Sandy Mackley; James was a sergeant in the Dragoons in Pennsylvania line, per Bounty Land Warrant #9618 for 100 acres, issued on August 26, 1789 and assigned to James Gray.
Noted at bottom of card "The information concerning the issuance of warrants on this form is found in volumes 2 to 4 of "Land Warrants Issued Prior to 1800" which are registers of bounty land warrants issued to non-commisioned officers and privates under congressional resolutions of September 16, 1776, and subsequent dates. Other records relative the applications for warrants appear to have been destroyed in the War Department fire of November 6, 1800. Information concerning warrants surrendered to the Federal Government is found in General Land Office records in the National Archives.

Marriage 1 Mary Lnu b: 1752 in Pa.
    • Married: ABT 1774 in Pennsylvania
    • Note:
This list of children born to James and Mary Hopkins was taken from the hand written record of Blanch Hopkins McCracken. However, the records sent by Peggy Hopkins Jack, shows 2 other Hopkins men from the Blair Co., Pa. area. Samuel Hopkins born 1771 and John Hopkins born 1775.
Due to the duplicate names and/or birth years, perhaps they were cousins of the James Hopkins Clan? Or could they be younger children that died and next children were named after them.
Mary Hopkins ( a civil war nurse) is buried at Arlington Cemetery. Is she a cousin of the James Hopkins Clan? I called the Arlington Cemetery and they have no record of a Mary Hopkins being buried there.
