!Nicholas Blackall-2644 (b. 1811) is probably the Nicholas Blackwall [sic] who
was baptismal sponsor for Thomas Waldron-18 (b. 13 Mar 1855). There may have
been a family connection between Nicholas's paternal grandmother Elizabeth
Barrington-2640 and Thomas's mother Catherine Parker-65 arising from the
marriage of Edward Parker, pawnbroker, to Jane Barrington on 11 Feb 1812.
!MARRIAGE: See Marriage Certificate no. 32, District of Six-Mile-Bridge, Union
of Ennis, County of Clare. The celebrant was Fr. Sylvester Malone and the
witnesses were Michael Rowe and Helena Keane. Despite the date on this
certificate, Thomas and Polly were Married on 17 Apr 1882 according to some
descendants; and on 18 Apr 1882 according to a pedigree affidavit which Polly
swore in the matter of the estate of Julia Nolan-401 and according to the 1865
diary which served as a family bible.

!OCCUPATIONS: Thomas was a policeman from 20 Jun 1873 to 1 Dec 1898 (see Royal
Irish Constabulary records, op. cit.) He was pensioned on the latter date. He
was a clerk on 24 Nov 1900 according to the death certificate of his son James
(Certificate no. 377, District Limerick No.2, Union of Limerick, County of
Limerick). He worked in Limerick Prison after his retirement from the RIC
according to the personal recollections of his daughter Nellie and others, but
whether as clerk or warder or in some other role is debatable.
