    The link to parents is confirmed from his Revolutionary War application he was born 1756/7. H e enlisted in Duchess Co., NY. An attached note from his granddaughter Rose Emily Rogers of B loomington, IN lists his birth as 7 Sept 1756; she though Solomon's father lived in Shonosbur g(?), Mass.

    In 1776 Ensign Solomon King lived in Albany, NY; he joined the 16th Regiment. As an enliste d man he acquired Land Bounty Rights. Sergeant Solomon King was in the New York Militia in th e VanWoert Regiment, serving in companies under Gilmore, Hodges, Doty, and McKillip. He fough t at the battle of White Plains. He received a pension (Application S13637) with an annual al lowance of $120.00. His pension commenced on 4 Mar 1831, he was placed on the roll on 28 Sep t 1833, and had received $300.00 by that time (1835 Pensioner's List for Lewis Co., NY). Solo mon King of Lowville attended the 4 July 1826 Semi-Centennial Celebration in Lowville; at th e dinner that evening he signed the register of Revolutionary Veterans as age 70, originall y from Amenia, Dutchess Co., NY. Note: Solomon's application of 1832/3 was wittnesed by Jame s Doig and A. W. Doig, who believed him to be 76 years old.

    He may be the Solomon King who in 1782 lived in Schaghticoke, Rensselaer Co., NY.

    Solomon purchased a sawmill from John and Ozem Bush on Sulphur Spring Creek, near the Numbe r Three Road, which had been built in 1803/4. There he erected the first grist mill in the ar ea. At a special town meeting in 1805 Solomon was chosen Supervisor of Lowville to replace Si las Stow. In 1810/1811 he was a Judge. He was elected Supervisor in 1814.

    In 1820 Solomon lived in Lowville, page 25 (000011-11101-02); he and son Solomon Jr. were eng aged in Agriculture.
    In 1830 Solomon lived in Lowville, page 387 (1000011001000-0111010001000); he and son Solomo n Jr. lived in the same household.

    On July 26, 1831 in Lowville, Solomon was a witness for the probate of the will of Ichabod Mu rray, his daughter Sarah's father-in-law.
