In 182 8 Ezekiel was granted land near Edwardsville, Macoupin Co., IL.; he added to his holdings thr ough 1839. In 1840 (1200101000000-2012100000000) and 1850 Ezekiel farmed in Macoupin Co (pag e 224). (in 1850, children born in IL: William - 16, Elizabeth - 13, Rebecca - 11, Ezekiel B . - 9, James - 8, George - 6, Harry - 3, Milley E. 1); the value of his property was $4,880.0 0.

    Ezekiel Springer and Thomas Ross constructed a saw mill for Andrew Rynders in Monroe Co., I L in about 1835. In 1840 he is listed on the Macoupin Co., IL tax list.

    In 1860 Ezekiel farmed in Washington Township, Wapello Co., IA (page 927); the value of his l and was $2,500 and personal property $1,000. At home were Oney, 49 from KY, James, 18 from IL , George, 16 from IL, Henry, 14 from IL, and Charles, 9 from IL.

    The Last Will and Testament of Ezekiel Springer.
    I Ezekiel Springer being of sound mind and memory and knowing the uncertainty of life and ce rtainty of death do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking any wil l that may have heretofore have been made by me - and first. I will that after my death my bo dy shall be decently buried and all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid out of m y estate.
    2nd It is my will that my beloved wife Oney Springer shall have all the proceeds of my Rea l Estate for the term of two years unless my executor can sell it sooner at which time her ri ght thereto will expire at the end of two years, or as soon as the property can be sold. Als o I bequeath to her my team of two horses and harness, and wagon, two plows and the necessar y utensils to carry on the farm, two cows and four hogs to fat this fall for meat, together w ith all the household and kitchen furniture.
    3rd It is my will that my Executor as soon as practicable after my decease sell all my perso nal property not named above and of the proceeds of the same he shall pay my beloved wife on e hundred dollars. Also that my Real Estate be sold as soon as it can be done without too gre at sacrafice and all the proceed of my personal and Real Estate be divided among my heirs a s follows.
    First to my beloved Oney Springer to have one thousand dollars to be paid her by my Executor . And the remainder of my property to be equally divided among my children as follows to wit : Jacob Harlan Springer, Letty Dennis, John Wilson Springer, William Simms Springer, Elizabet h Jane Lane, Rebecca Heigdon, Ezekiel Benton Springer, James Jefferson Springer, George Washi ngton Springer, Cyrus Henry Springer, and Charles Newton Springer. My Executor on making dist ribution of my property to the above named heirs is requested to deduct from Jacob Harlan Spr inger's share two hundred and twenty five dollars, he having received that amount heretofore , and also that my son Charles Newton Springer be paid fifty dollars by my Executor over an d above his equal share, that amount being yet due him to make him equal with the rest of m y heirs.
    4th I hereby appoint Morrow Shields my Executor to execute this my last Will & Testament.
    In testimony whereof I have in the presence of legal witnesses assigned my name to this docu ment thereby publishing it as my last Will and Testament this ___ day of July 1869.

    Seeking info on JULIA ANNA WHITE SPRINGER born in Morgan co Ill on 9-14-1842 died 4-9-19 25 in Mo. She also lived in Macoupin co Ill and also in Sangamon co Ill. She is the daughte r of Joseph White a noted Baptist minister. Mother Martha Jane Weatherford White. Julia joine d the Methodist church North. She married Dennis Springer on 7-26-1866 at age 24 in Springfie ld Ill. In 1867 they moved to Dade co Mo. and in 1868 settled in Barton co Mo. and homestede d at Leroy about 5 miles for the present day city of Liberal Mo..
