    Funeral mass for Charles Kanallakan, 68, of 403 Maple Ave., Jerseyville was celebrated 7 Oct, at the Holy Ghost church with father Robert L. Heintz celebrant. He died at 11:55 am on 4 October at the Jersey Community Hospital. Interment was in the St. Francis Xavier cemetery. A retired farmer, he was born 7 August 1907 in Jersey county, a son of Fredrick and Johanna Munsterman Kanallakan. He was a member of the farm bureau, Holy Ghost Catholic church and Knights of Columbus. His survivors are his widow, Elizabeth Downey Kanallakan; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Strebel of Jerseyville; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Caroline Drainer of Jerseyville. His parents, one son and four brothers preceded him in death. The rosary was recited Monday evening at Jacoby funeral home. The family designated the Holy Ghost building fund as a memorial.
