    In 1692 CC was a member of a grand jury for witches. CC's 5th great grandson was Anthony Comstock, morals crusader and organizer of the NY Society for the Suppression of Vice, that inspired the Watch and Ward Society of Boston, secured laws against perceived immorality, and was personally credited with instigating the destruction of 160 tons of literature and artworks, and successful prosecution of 2,500 individuals, including Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood. CC's 6th great grandson was Henry T. Comstock, an original claim holder of the Comstock Lode, richest known US silver deposit, Virginia City, Nevada, 1855.

    Christopher came from England. He settled in Fairfield, Fairfield County, CT in 1654. He later lived in Norwalk, Fairfield County, CT. His will, dated Norwalk, 22 December 1701, proved 4 Jan 1702-3, gives to wife Hannah; to son Moses when 21; to son Samuel; to daughter Hannah Comstock; to daughter Mercy Comstock; to grandson Daniel; wife and son Samuel executors. On 29 May 1654, Christopher Comstock made an affidavit about visiting good wife Knapp charged with witchcraft. She was executed. On 27 Jan 1661, Christopher, then of Fairfield, bought land of Thomas Betts. On 19 September 1692, he was a member of the grand jury for witches. Christopher Comstock of Norwalk was nominated for freedman 10 Oct 1667. Christopher, 14 October 1686 was a deputy to the General Court. On 16 Jan 1694, he was one of a committee to look out for and obtain a faithful minister for Norwalk
