Marriage 1 Ann Comrie b: APR 1798 in Comrie, Perthshire, Scotland
    • Note: Note that the first 2 children were born before their official marriage . It is said that this is because they were from different branches of t he church, and Ann's parents would not agree to hold the wedding in the ir home - the usual place for a wedding in those days. It seems they c hanged their tune when the couple announced their intention to go to Ca nada. They lived in Beckwith Twp, Concession 7 Lot 24. There seems to b e some confusion in their children since Ann's obit said she had 10 but t here are 11 shown here. Jessie Dewar's letter says that "One daughter d ied in infancy, 1 son died in 1828, two in 1838, one in 1849.".
