This land later was devised to William Kinchloe who with his wife, Mary, sold it to Samuel Littlejohn 20 April 1772. (Fairfax Deeds L:273, 18 May 1774. Footnote: Richard and his wife, Mary (Kinchloe) Simpson, must have removed from Fairfax Co. Virginia to Orange Co., NC about the time of this sale, since he obtained a land grant in Orange Co., NC on Haw River at High Rock Creek in 1754, in what is now Rockingham Co., NC
