The Recorder, Gore Bay, September 6, 1928
St. Paul's Anglican Church, Fort William, Ont., was the scene of a pretty wedding Saturday, August 4, at nine o'clock when Miss Catherine Flora Buchanan, daughter of Norman Buchanan and the late Mrs. Buchanan of Gore Bay, Manitoulin, was united in marriage to James Cureton Eglington Bailey, son of the late Dr. James Harold Bailey, of Manchester, England, and Mrs. Bailey of this city. Rev. T. Lloyd officiated. The bride entered the church, which was beautifully decorated with ferns and evergreens to the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march played by H. H. Browne and was given in marriage by her cousin Walter Doherty. She wore a gown of silver grey silk lace and georgette over shell pink and carried a shower bouquet of butterfly roses and lily-of-the-valley. Her hat was a model of capeline and grey lace with a shell pink flower on the under brim. Grey kid shoes and hsoe completed the bridal attire.
The bridesmaid, Miss Ernestine Bennett was gowned in a deep pink georgette frock with lace touches and French flowers and wore a corded silk model in pink tones and carried a bouquet of tinted roses and sweet peas. Beige shoes and hose were worn.
George Blake acted in the capacity of best man. Immediately after the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Doherty.
