    A little about this part of Alabama:
    Barbour County became a county in 1832 and is next door to the counties
    mentioned below. It was organized from parts of Pike County, Henry
    County, and Creek Indian Land. Most of the people that settled in Barbour
    County came from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
    Coffee County was established on December 24, 1841 from the western
    section of Dale County.
    Geneva County was established on December 26, 1868 from parts of Dale,
    Henry and Coffee Counties. The area was settled during 1836 by Henry A.
    Youge. Mr. Youge was the first Postmaster in the area and he named the
    county in honor of Geneva, Switzerland.
