IN THE NAME OR GOD AMEN. I John Turbevil Of Craven County in the provin ce of South Carolina Planter being Sick and Weak in Body but of perfect mi nd and ___Memory and calling to mind the Mortality of This Body and th at it is Appointed for all Men Once to die. do make and constitute th is my Last Will and Testament and first of all I Commit my Spirit into t he hand of God, who gave it and my Body to the Earth to be decently Interr ed at the discretion of my Executors. Nothing doubting but I shall recei ve the Same again at the Resurrection of the Great day and be Again Reunit ed by the Almighty power of God, and as for such worldly goods as it ha th Pleased God to Endow me with.
I do hereby dispose of in manner and form following that is to say, aft er my Just debts are paid funeral charges & __ which I leave Intirely to
my Executors to do as they shall think Best, either by raising money fr om the Labour Of the Negroes or by sale of the Hogs Horses, and what of t he Household Goods and Plantation Tools can be Conveniently Spared & __
ITEM I Give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Elizabeth Turbevil the u se Of All my Personal Estate during her Life.
ITEM I Give and bequeath unto my Son Charles Turbevil the Sum of Twenty sh illings Currant Money of this Province as the Last part of _is Portion,
ITEM I give and bequeath unto my daughter Judith Two pounds Current Mon ey of this Province as the Last part of her portion.
ITEM I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jemima Three pounds Currant Mon ey of this Province as the Last part of her Portion.
ITEM I give and bequeath unto My daughter Lucy Sweat one Negroe Wench Nam ed Hannah and One Negroe Boy Named Peter and One Negroe Girl Named D___ r, to her and her heirs forever.
ITEM I give and bequeath unto My Grandson Morris Murphy, One Negroe Nam ed Dell to him and to his heirs for ever provided he shall give the Fir st Child the Girl shall bare to his Brother Matthew Murphy.
ITEM I give and bequeath to My Grandson George Turbevil One Negroe Named A nnakin (?) Provided he shall give the First Child the Girl
shall Bare, to his Brother Solomon Turbevil and if the said George Turbev il shall die before he Arrive to the age of Twenty One then the said Negr oe Girl Annakin shall be be the property of my Grandson Nathan Sweat and h is heirs forever.
And I do hereby Nominate and Appoint my Trusty Friend Thomas Burton a nd my Son in law William Sweat to be my Executors to this my Last Will a nd Testament denying Revoking and disannulling all other Wills and Testame nts Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Test ament
