Charles Newberry, 71, of Waldron, died Friday, May 28, 1999 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a retired car salesman, a Baptist, and a member of the Arkansas Blue Grass Association. He was preceded in death by his mother, Flarabel Dozier, and his brothers, Wando and Frankie. Funeral service was at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1 in Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with burial at Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery in Waldron. Survivors include his wife, Marcine, of the home; three daughters, Patsy Walker of White Hall, Sharon Williams of Stuttgart and Pamela Davis of Waldron; two sons, Jerry Newberry of Waldron and David Newberry of Fort Smith; one sister, Martha Lou Watkins of Waldron; two brothers, Jerry Newberry of Crosbyton, Tex. and Dickie Newberry of Waldron; ten grandchildren: Rusty, Angie, Vicki, Tammy, Tresha, Shawn, Sonya, Travis, Brian and Brad; 17 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Sanders, Ira Yeoman, Glen Dale Sparks, Robert Newman, Clyde Garvin and Lester Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were James Richmond, Herman Atchley, Fred Morton, Boone Carlton, Bill Needham. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
