Previously, it was generally accepted that Benjamin Jackson and Elizabeth Clark were also the parents of Col. Isaac Jackson of Hancock Countyl, GA. However, recent DNA evidence for two of Isaac's descendants shows that they are not related to a known descendant of Benjamin's father Thomas Jackson. This probably means that Isaac was not the son of Benjamin. Other possibilities are being explored. The following information on Benjamin Jackson is still believed to be true:

Benjamin immigrated with his father and brothers from Ireland to PA about 1717. He inherited his father's "homeplace" of 140 acres in East Marlborough in 1727. Disowned by the New Garden MM on 30 May 1741 for "having been over come with strong Licquor." He moved with his brother Isaac to NC in 1751, settling on the Eno River northeast of Corinton (now Hillsborough) and was reinstated by the Cane Creek Monthly Meeting on 2 Oct 1762. He was licenced to keep an Ordinary (tavern) at his house. As part of 40 Quaker families, he moved to St. Paul Parish, GA, in 1768 with his sons Walter and Absolom. On Nov. 6, 1770, he was granted house lot #51 on one of the three town squares in the new town of Wrightsboro, Ga, plus 150 acres nearby for farming (later increased to 250 acres), bounded on the northwest by Little River (Grant Book I, pg. 199). At the Wrightsboro Monthly Meeting on "the 3d of the 12th month 1774", Benjamin and his family were received as members upon receipt of a general Certificate from the Bush River Monthly Meeting.,
