        Mrs. Fleming died Friday, March 11, 2005, at her residence. She was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Albany, Ga., to John Darby and Alma Sheffield Darby. She was a homemaker. She lived in Decatur for 55 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Thornton Fleming Jr.
        Survivors include one son, John Thomas Fleming and his wife, Debra, of Decatur; one daughter, Darby Fleming Calhoun of Birmingham; three granddaughters, Margaret S. Fleming of Decatur, Elizabeth F. Tompkins of Florence, and Julie C. Winton of Birmingham; two grandsons, John Thornton Carrero of Key Largo, Fla., and Landers F. Chapman of Birmingham; and two great-grandchildren, John David Winton of Birmingham and Samuel W. Tompkins of Florence.
