Edmund Covell never married and had no children. With the exception of a stay with his brothers and sisters in Barron County, Wisconsin, in the 1880's, and military service in the Civil War, he lived all his adult life in South Valley, Cattaraugus Co., New York. Edmund was, at least briefly, in Barron County, Wisconsin, where he witnessed a deed in 1883 signed by his sister, Lucy (Covell) Barton. Reference: Barron County, WI, deed vol. D, page 511, deed dated Apr 19, 1883. There is no death record for Edmund Covell in the Town of Carroll, Chautauqua County, NY. His death record probably is in the town of South Valley, but the New York state law, combined with an uncooperative Town Clerk, make it almost impossible to get the data without going to South Valley in person.
