    Brian Ruppe wrote:
"The history of Martin Roop, his family and his travels is taken from an unpublished "Ruppe History" in the possession of my brother, Alan Ruppe, and was assembled around 1930. The author is unknown but may have been our grandfather, Hustler Hoyle Ruppe. The history seems to be a collection of verbal stories collected from family members. Much of the information in this history has been verified through census records and other genealogical data."

Patrick Ruppe (a researcher for the Martin Ruppp/Mary Barbara Mattias line) says that he was the "Seed" for all of the Ruppes located in North Carolina/South Carolina.

Note: In 1800 living next door to Martin Rupe (or at least enumerated after him) is a Michael Rupe age 16 & under 26. What is the relationship to this person? Later census listings for this individual show that he was born in North Carolina abt. 1770. Could the story be true that Jacob RUPP went to NC with his chidren in during this time?
