Frank M. Robinson, son of Moses and Elizabeth Robinson, was born in Hamilton County, Illinois, Sept. 28, 1870; departed this life Aug. 20, 1935, aged 65 years, 10 months and 7 days.
He was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Songer on Jan. 7, 1896. To this union nine children were born, Coy, Sophronia, Melberta, Harry Lee, Mary Ruth, Charley Franklin, James Romilus, who died in infancy, Robert and Carl.
He professed faith in Christ 37 years prior to death, and united with the M. E. Church of McLeansboro, remaining a member until death.
As a business man he was very successful, and for many years engaged in the undertaking and merchandise business.
For several months he had been in failing health, having received treatment at Evansville and St. Louis, but could find no permanent cure. At the time of his death he seemed to be much improved and was visiting his sister, Mrs. Laura Campbell of East St. Louis.
His sudden death was quite a shock to his family and many friends. He served as alderman of the City of McLeansboro, and was a public spirited man, and did much to improve our city. He spent most of his life in Hamilton county, and was a kind and loving father and a good neighbor, loved and respected by all.
He leaves to mourn, the above named children, eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Laura Campbell of East St. Louis, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Aug. 22, at the home, conducted by Elders D. H. Knight and John B. Maulding, assisted by Elders H. R. Moore and T. B. Hunt, in the presence of a large congregation of sorrowing relatives and friends. Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
