His printing businesses must have been very successful. His estate was valued at $160,000, the equivalent of $4 million today. In 1905 his surviving daughters went to court with a dispute over how it should be distributed.In Oct-1907, after his daughters settled their dispute, a notice was published describing the sale of his 41-acre "Paradise Farm", "one of the prettiest spots on the Alameda de las Pulgas in the Portola valley", in San Mateo County near Redwood City.
