Naomi A. Muxfeldt, 90, Mondamin, died Oct. 13 at Rose Vista Home, Woodbine.
Naomi Ann (Ball) Muxfeldt was born April 24, 1914, to parents George and Daisy (Good) Ball in the Harris Grove neighborhood southeast of Logan. Naomi attended country school and graduated from Logan High School in 1930. May 1, 1938, she married Vern Muxfeldt. In 1950 the couple moved to Mondamin and opened Muxfeldt Farm Supply. They continued in business until Vern died in January of 1971. After Vern's death Naomi sold the Farm Supply and became the librarian for the Mondamin Public Library. She remained the librarian until her retirement in 1998.
Naomi was very active in civic affairs in the Mondamin community. She was a member of the Mondamin United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star Chapter 280 in Modale. Naomi enjoyed bowling, and her team bowled well enough that they competed in several state bowling tournaments. Naomi also enjoyed reading, traveling, and meeting people. Naomi truly never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers Richard, Alister, and Israel; and two sisters Pearl and Lucy. She is survived by two sisters Opal and her husband Howard Baker, Lamoni; Mary Ball, New York City, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services were held at the Fouts Funeral Home, Woodbine, Oct. 17, the Rev. Shurmaine McAlpine, officiant.
Interment was in the Woodbine Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in memory of Naomi to the Mondamin Public Library.
