      Text: THE DETROIT NEWS-HERALD, 14 Apr 1949:
      William L. Maroney, 86, passed away at his home at Post Oak Saturday morning about 10 o'clock after about 10 days illness. A native of Georgia, he had lived in that community 68 years, where he had engaged in farming, ginning and merchandising and was a member of the Methodist Church since he was 21.
      Services were conducted at Post Oak Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock with burial in Post Oak Cemetery.
      He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Maroney of Brownfield and Mrs. Mollie Phillips of Farris, Okla.; a step-son, Olen Lee of Post Oak; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and 3 sisters, Mrs. Mandy Baucum, Pattonville; Mrs. Bernie Garrison, Kiomitia and Mrs. Lizzie Jones, Vernon and other relatives and a host of friends.

L., operated a grist mill prior to the time they built the community's first gin, which took place about 1889/90.... The beginning of the decade of the 1930's began with a grist mill open ... owned by Tellus Outland. W. L. Maroney was the mill's operator.... The grist mill was in operation until about 1935, it is estimated.
