      ROBERT E. SEELYE

      CALAIS - Robert E. Seelye, 74, died March 30, 2003, at a Bangor hospital surrounded by his loving wife of 44 years and his devoted children. He was born May 8, 1928, at Upper Mills, New Brunswick, the oldest child of Bessie (Seelye) Eye.

      Bob was a Canadian Army Veteran of the Korean War and a 36-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion of Milltown, New Brunswick. Until the time of his death, he owned and operated Bob's Tree Service.

      He was predeceased by his mother; his stepfather, George Eye; a brother, Neil; a son, Michael, and a grandson, Jason. He is survived by his wife, Leola (Matthews) Seelye;

      sons, Robert Matheson and his wife, Gloria,

      Robert "Skeet" Seelye and his wife, Tina,

      Roger Seelye and his wife, Brandi;

      his daughters, Sandra McQuilkin and companion, Paul Doucette,

      Sandra Connick and husband, John;

      Linda Winchester and companion, Terry Bowman Jr.;

      a special grandson, Robbie Seelye, and grandchildren, David, Crystal, Robin, Tene, Steven, Chad, Matthew, Faithann, Nick, Roger, Brooke, Kaleb, Joey and Emma;

      two great-grandchildren, Nakisha and Haley, a stepgrandson, Michael;

      four sisters, Aileen, Dawn-Marie, Kathleen and Portia; and a brother, Chester.

      He will be fondly remembered by his close friends, Gary Porter, Don Muraty, Clem Furlotte, Tom Daggett and David Townsend.

      A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, by Pastor Bob Hinton at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home in Calais. At the request of the family there will be no visiting hours. Donations in his memory, to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine, 87 Elm St., Suite 206, Camden, ME 04843, would be greatly appreciated.
